Lead Governance Professional - THE FORGE BROOK TRUST

This new role of Lead Governance Professional will play a pivotal role within the new MAT and be a key part of an effective governance and leadership model that ensures high standards of compliance and organisation.
As a brand new role, the successful applicant will be a play a significant role in building on and further strengthening our Governance model with a consistent and analytical approach.
The successful candidate will be able to evidence exceptional organisational skills, demonstrate keen attention to detail and a willingness to work flexibly to meet the needs of the trust and its governance requirements.

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Salary: Grade 7, SCP 22-27 (22.5 hours per week, term time only. Actual Salary: £17,308 - £19,630
Accountable to: Trust Board, CEO and LGBs
Links with: All stakeholders
To oversee all aspects of governance effectiveness and compliance within the trust, ensure governance adheres to good practice and meets all statutory and regulatory requirements, and provide strategic leadership of services that support governance across the trust.
This is achieved by:
- Supporting the efficient and effective operation of the trust board and its committees
- Ensuring governance at all levels is carrying out its functions
- Leading on development of the trust’s governance framework and driving improvements to its systems, processes and structures
- Managing and coordinating the delivery and ongoing improvement of governance support across the trust
The lead governance professional role will include some/all the responsibilities carried out by those working at governance coordinator level in larger and geographically dispersed organisations. They may also be the company secretary.

The Forge Brook Trust (MAT) is founded on the well-established collaboration of schools within the Broadway Family of Schools Cluster Groups, which meet regularly for school-to-school support. The MAT aims to create a unified yet autonomous family of schools that collectively strengthen and stabilise each other through shared expertise, collaboration, and resource efficiency. Its purpose is to enhance teaching and learning, raise attainment across all key stages, and provide students with greater life opportunities while ensuring each school retains its unique ethos and character. The MAT also seeks to build strong relationships with students and their families, promote diversity and inclusion, and foster a sense of shared responsibility for both successes and challenges.
