TEACHER OF SCIENCE

PERMANENT FULL-TIME START SUMMER TERM 2025

(or as soon as possible thereafter)

Salary: MPS/UPS*

We are seeking to appoint an excellent classroom practitioner who is an enthusiastic, innovative and engaging teacher of Science, (preferably including A Level Biology) to join a dynamic and expanding faculty and to add further capacity to increase the opportunities for more targeted intervention classes, especially for KS4.

The faculty offers a wide programme of options at Key Stage 4 and 5 including; AQA Trilogy Combined Science, AQA Separate Sciences a popular option choice for approx. 60-70 students each year, BTEC Level 3 Science and the three separate A Levels.  The Science Faculty has a large team of experienced teachers and middle leaders to offer a wealth of support and professional advice and also graduate Teaching Assistants and very experienced technicians to support the delivery of the curriculum. This is an expanding faculty, we have recently appointed a Lead Practitioner and Lead Teacher within the faculty and there are excellent opportunities for personal growth and leadership development opportunities both within and beyond the faculty for those who want to develop as a leader.

We would welcome applications from teachers early in their careers including PGCE students through to experienced staff. The start date will be confirmed on interview based on current role/position or if you are a current PGCE student we can delay the start until you qualify.

Most of our students remain with us into the Sixth form, including those who study A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Physics as well as BTEC in Science and we are aiming to further develop Post 16 provision in all three A levels. The person appointed will be a key figure in the delivery of Key Stage 4 separate sciences and contribute to Post 16 Biology and/or other A levels and/or BTEC and there will be excellent opportunities to contribute to Post 16 expansion so offering a lot of potential to teach A Level.
