Personal Development Programme (PDP)

All students at Key Stage 3 will cover the following topic areas across Year 7 and 8. The content will be delivered through specially themed days which are taught by our own dedicated staff and external speakers where appropriate. Topics covered are:

  • Sex and Relationship Education. 
  • Citizenship. 
  • Careers. 
  • Enterprise.

Course Content

Sex and Relationship Education: 

  • Scientific facts about the reproductive system.
  • Healthy Relationships and staying safe.

Citizenship:

  • Democratic rights and responsibilities.
  • Becoming a socially responsible citizen.

Careers:

  • Linking education to future careers and making good choices. 

Enterprise:

  • Themed competitions to extend knowledge.

Gifted and Talented Provision

  • Additional relevant tasks
  • Enterprise Club

Extra Curricular Opportunities

  • Enterprise Club
  • External Enterprise competitions
  • Citizenship opportunities
  • Careers workshops
  • Independent careers advice

Assessment

Although there is no formal assessment or examination at Key Stage 3 for PDP, teachers will keep record and record the progress of all students in their groups in order to ensure that they understand all of the key concepts.
