BTEC Graphic Design (Double)
Entry Requirements
Minimum of five 9-4 grades at GCSE or equivalent. Grade C or equivalent in your chosen study subject is preferred.
Course Description
A 720 hour course, completed over two years; equivalent to two A levels. The qualification is designed to give learners a technical understanding of graphics. Learners gain knowledge and skills in areas such as typography and illustration to produce vocational projects in graphic design. Learners choose an optional unit in another art and design discipline which complements the subject and gives breadth to their practice.

Assessment
There are nine units to complete. Certain units are mandatory whilst others are option based. Around a third of all content is externally assessed, with the remainder taking the form of coursework, which is assessed internally by staff and checked annually by a moderator.
Career Opportunities
The qualification is for learners intending to gain employment in graphic design, possibly after further study in higher education. The qualification is usually studied over two years alongside additional qualifications.
