BTEC Enterprise & Entrepreneurship
Minimum of 5 A*-C grades I grade 5 (new grading structure) at GCSE or equivalent.Grade C or equivalent in your chosen study subject is preferred.
Enterprise and Entrepreneurship will give students the opportunity to investigate the attributes of successful entrepreneurs around the world. Learners will look at the different aspects required to become a successful entrepreneur as well as looking at different enterprise activities which have taken the world by storm. Learners will be given the opportunity to become entrepreneurs by creating a new invention and then by going out, pitching it and selling it to the general public.The following unit areas are studied through the course: business planning and pitching, financial planning and implementation, launching a business vision, brand development and promotion.
Learners will complete controlled assessments within lessons. They will be given a plan at the start of course where they will be aware of all deadlines for submission. Learners will be given the opportunity to complete formative and summative submission of assessment. A summative unit grade can be awarded at pass, merit or distinction. An examination is also a part of an externally assessed unit. Four units of work must be completed for the Extended Certificate in Enterprise & Entrepreneurship which is equivalent to one A level over two years. This consists of three mandatory units and one optional unit; optional unit will be selected by teaching staff. Units are internally and externally assessed. Each unit within the qualification has specified assessment and grading criteria.
After completing this course,learners can continue in higher education, commence an apprenticeship or get a job. This course will aid the learner in the following careers: Business, Marketing, Human Resources, Accounting, Operational Activities and will generally aid learners wanting to start up their own business. This course will also allow learners to build on personal and team building skills which are vital for future employment.
