Minimum of 5 A*-C grades I grade 5 (new grading structure} at GCSE or equivalent with English and maths. Grade B or equivalent in your chosen study subject is preferred. A booklet of work containing essential skills is available for students to help ease the transition from GCSE to A level.
There are three modules of study in the Year 12 programme:
- Pure Core 1 (Compulsory)
- Pure Core 2 (Compulsory)
Decision 1 (Optional Choice)

- Pure Core 3 (Compulsory)
- Pure Core 4 (Compulsory)
Statistics 1 (Optional Choice)
Whilst some students may wish to take the AS level at the end of Year 12, the vast majority of students will continue onto the full A level at the end of the second year of study for formal examination in June 2019.

A level Mathematics complements qualifications in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Pure Sciences. It is also a considered a good option for Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Science.
