We are seeking to appoint an excellent classroom practitioner who is an enthusiastic, innovative and engaging teacher of Business Studies and related subjects to join a dynamic and expanding faculty. The Business team offer a wide programme of options at Key Stage 4 and 5 including; GCSE Business Studies, BTEC Enterprise at Level 2 and BTEC Business at Level 3, A Level Business Studies and BTEC Travel and Tourism at Level 2. Business Studies is part of a wider Innovations Faculty which includes ICT/Computer Science and Design and Technology where there are also a range of courses at KS4 and 5. The Innovations Faculty has a large team of experienced teachers and middle leaders to offer plenty of advice and support. We would welcome applications from teachers early in their careers through to experienced staff.
*This is ideally a part time vacancy at the current time we are looking for a minimum of 3 days, however there is a possibility of full time for a candidate who can offer a subject in another subject beyond Business Studies at least at KS4, subject to the timetable needs at the time of interview.

There are many opportunities at the Academy for staff personal and professional development with a wealth of experience and some outstanding practice in these faculties.
Academy has a large Sixth Form of well over 240 students and Business contributes significantly to course and numbers Post 16 so the successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach at Post 16 as well as contribute to development of AAQ’s and/or T level(s) and to shape the future of other A Levels and vocational courses in the faculty as they consider alternatives to replacing the BTEC Level 3.
As a result of excellent practice and support, Business Studies subjects have evidence of outstanding successes for student progress at Key Stage 4 and 5 and results within the Innovations Faculty are some of the highest in the Academy year on year. This is due to the experience of the staff and willingness to go the extra mile to support and develop opportunities for our students.
*The ability to teach another subject beyond Business at KS3 and/or 4 is essential for a full time position. These could include specialisms in one or more subjects such as Computing, ICT, Computer Science, Level 3 Media Studies, or other areas where there is a demand at the time of interview . All staff must be able to teach PSHE which falls within the role of a form tutor.
Our last Ofsted inspection in we were judged the Academy to be good in all categories and for overall effectiveness with some excellent feedback across all subjects and our Pastoral Care.

You will have/show:
- Practical skills and expertise as outlined in the Job description
- A passion and vision for Business and enterprise activities and the importance to students and their future lives
- A passion and vision for working with students in their personal, social and emotional needs as well as their academic development
- The ability to motivate and inspire students
- Experience of delivering GCSE Business and/or BTEC Enterprise, BTEC L2 Travel and Tourism and some experience of teaching Post 16
- The ability to contribute to other courses across the Faculty is desirable such as ICT, Computer Science, Media Studies or another subject at GCSE or BTEC at KS4 or 5
- The ability to deliver PSHE in form time
- The ability to contribute to other courses across the Academy at KS4 for the full time position is essential based on timetable needs at the time of the appointment*
- Some experience of teaching Post 16 would be desirable in one of the courses within the faculty
- Confidence in dealing with students across different age ranges, particularly Key Stage 4 and 5
- The determination to support in raising student achievement within the classroom
- The passion to enrich the lives of our students and contribute to the development of Cultural Capital to enhance the life opportunities for our students
- Team skills
- Outstanding inter-personal and communication skills with students, colleagues and parents
- A clear understanding of the importance of Safeguarding.
