TEACHER OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION
with the ability to teach Science at KS3 and/or 4 or another subject specialism

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding PE Specialist practitioner who is an enthusiastic, innovative and engaging teacher of Physical Education and Sport and preferably Science at least at KS3 and/or 4 and/or other specialism to join a dynamic and expanding Academy. We are keen to appoint someone who is a proven teacher, who has driven up attainment and progress in PE and who can apply this experience to raise attainment, and achievement, at all key stages in PE and in GCSE Physical Education.
The Academy offers a wide programme of options at Key Stage 4 and 5. We are seeking to appoint a candidate that can offer Physical Education at KS3 and 4 as well as Physical Education GCSE AQA at KS4 and/or BTEC level 3 Sport. The successful candidate should be able to offer another subject, preferably at KS4 either Combined Science (AQA) or AQA Single Science in Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics* or an alternative subject.
We would welcome applications from teachers early in their careers through to experienced staff.
This is a key role for the Academy, and we are looking for someone who is passionate about PE, who really wants to make a difference. We are also seeking someone is ambitious, for both themselves, and their students, who would want to make their mark and then seek further promotion opportunities.
The faculty is at the forefront of change and the Head of Faculty is a member of the Extended Leadership Team. The Academy has a large Sixth Form and this faculty contributes significantly to courses and numbers Post 16 so the successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to development of A Levels, Level 3 courses and possible T levels as well as the opportunity to shape the future of other A Levels as we continue to expand our Sixth form. There are plenty of opportunities to experience teaching at Post 16 as well as contributing to Post 16 developments.

You will have/show:
- Practical skills and expertise as outlined in the Job description and be able to teach Boys and/or Girls PE.
- A passion and vision for working with students in their personal, social and emotional needs as well as their academic development.
- The ability to motivate and inspire students within and beyond the curriculum.
- Experience of delivering Physical Education at KS3 and KS4, GCSE Physical and/or Vocational Sport programmes at KS4 and/or 5.
- GCSE Combined and/or Separate Science(s) at KS4 or another subject specialism beyond PE.
- Some experience of teaching Post 16 would be desirable.
- The ability to teach PSHE in form time.
- Experience and success in offering a range of sports to contribute to the extra-curricular provision.
- The ability to stimulate curiosity, interest and enjoyment in learning and increase participation on sport and enrichment activities.
- Creative skills and a professional approach.
- The passion to enrich the lives of our students and contribute to the development of Cultural Capital to enhance the life opportunities for our students.
- Engagement in professional development opportunities.
- Outstanding inter-personal and communication skills with students, colleagues and parents.
- A clear understanding of the importance of Safeguarding.
