While the hidden meanings behind emojis used by young people can often be harmless, some may indicate risks such as extremism, drugs, sexual interactions, and bullying.

Some 73 million people watched the League of Legends 2021 World Championship Final – which, for context, is around three-quarters of the total audience for that year’s NFL Super Bowl. So esports is demonstrably growing in popularity and credibility – in fact, video gaming will feature in next month’s Commonwealth Games as a pilot scheme, with a view to becoming a full medal event for 2026. 

HAF is a free and exciting holiday programme for children and young people aged 5 to 16 who are eligible for benefit related free school meals. The programme is running over Easter (1 week), summer (4 weeks) and Christmas (1 week) school holidays. The Department of Education (DFE) has provided funding for the programme. Results will be sent to student's Office 365 email address and there will be no need for the vast majority of students to attend the Academy.

There will be staff available for appointments on results days, so please ring ahead to make an appointment if required.

Some children can’t enjoy the simple things many children take for granted because they are caring for someone in their family who is ill or disabled.   

Young carers take on a lot of responsibilities, including washing and dressing the person they're caring for and looking after younger siblings – plus domestic chores such as cooking, cleaning and shopping.   

That's a lot to take on as a child. With so many adult responsibilities, young carers often miss out on opportunities that other children have and many struggle educationally.  

Please arrive at the main reception at the latest 8.45 am for morning exams and 12.45pm for afternoon exams.
