Reporting Harmful Content Online

We recognise that harmful content online can potentially become a more serious concern and can have a significant impact on the welfare of our students. Report Harmful Content is a national reporting centre that has been designed to assist everyone in reporting harmful content online.

They can review reports made about the following eight types of online harm:

  1. Online Abuse
  2. Bullying or Harassment
  3. Threats
  4.  Impersonation
  5. Unwanted Sexual Advances (Not Image Based)
  6. Violent Content
  7. Self-Harm or Suicide Content
  8. Pornographic Content

If you feel that you have been affected by any of these categories online, please click on the button below to report it. 

REMEMBER: If you or the person you are helping is in immediate danger please contact the Police by dialling 999

Safeguarding at the Academy

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined as: protecting children from maltreatment; preventing impairment of children’s mental and physical health or development; ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care; and taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes possible.

Are you concerned about the safety of a child or your safety?

We would like to remind you about services available to you over the summer holidays we are continually developing resources to ensure you always have someone to talk to. However, if a child is in immediate danger, please contact:

To ensure our students and staff are kept safe we have a number of policies and procedures in place, which are understood and followed by all staff, governors and volunteers. All of our safeguarding-related policies are available on our policies page.

All staff at the Academy receive annual comprehensive child protection and safeguarding training, in addition to regular updates throughout the academic year.

What to do if you're worried about a child/young person please act

If the child or young person is not at risk of being significantly harmed consider an Early help response on 0300 555 2866 (Option 1) if you are unsure please view our right help, right time guidance. More information about Early Help can be found at  http://www.mywalsall.org/walsallearlyhelp/ 

If you suspect that a child or young person is being, or is at risk of being significantly harmed as a result of abuse or neglect, you must report this immediately:

  • During office hours (Monday – Thursday, 8.45am – 5.15pm Friday, 8.45am – 4.45pm) call Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub: 0300 555 2866 
  • Out of office hours (evenings, weekends and bank holidays) Emergency Response Team Telephone: 0300 555 2922

NSPCC -If you're worried about a child, even if you're unsure, you can speak to us about your concerns. Whether you want to report child abuse and neglect or aren't sure what to do, we're here to listen, offer advice and support and can take the next steps if a child's in danger.

Joseph Leckie Academy The Sharp System - SHARP is a web based tool which is allows our students to anonymously report to a member of staff who is trusted and well known within the school. The SHARP System promotes inclusion, safeguarding, e-safety and provides additional opportunities for students to report their concerns.
