Technical Award in Textiles

The textiles technical award specification provides students with exposure to different aspects of textile design, allowing them to investigate the uses of various materials and explore these in design scenarios.

BTEC Sport

Students will follow the BTEC Level 1/2 First Award in Sport. They will begin the course in Year 9 and will have completed the course by Year 11 to gain accreditation. Students will develop both practical and theoretical skills and build on their knowledge of all aspects of sport and fitness.

GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition

Students will follow the new GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition specification. Beginning in Year 9 they will develop an understanding of food and its working properties. They will gain practical skills whilst completing regular tasks. Using these skills students will complete controlled assessments throughout Years 10 and 11. They will also gain theoretical knowledge over the three years in preparation for a written examination.

GCSE Drama

All students opting for drama will study Edexcel GCSE. From Year 9 students will explore a variety of performance styles using scripts as well as making up their own dramas. In Year 10 they begin to explore more challenging scripts and devise plays towards the needed running time.
